Elopement Ceremony
Legals - Only Ceremony (Gold Coast Only)
A short, simple but meaningful ceremony involving just you and your 2 witnesses that can be done in the comfort of your own home, at a close by location, or even over a coffee so there is no need for a PA System or Rehearsal.

Ceremony
Payment Schedule
A non-refundable booking fee of $200 is required at the time of confirmation to secure your date.

Upon completion of your Notice Of Intended Marriage, 50% of the total cost is required.

Balance of payment to be paid in full 14 days prior to your ceremony

Terms & Conditions

In my role as Celebrant, I will arrive at least one hour prior to the start of the ceremony as per the Agreed Arrival Time and depart 30 minutes after the completion of the ceremony as per the Agreed Departure Time.

All of the information collected will only be used for the purpose for which it was collected.

It is the couple’s responsibility to obtain permission from private property owners or council permits for council-owned land to conduct the ceremony.

I reserve the right to postpone the ceremony should issue around safety arise at any time prior to or during the ceremony. Including, (but not limited to), fire hazards, floods, high winds, or storms and I shall not be liable for any failure to perform your ceremony, or for any delay in this case.

According to the Marriage Act, 1961, it is illegal for me to marry a couple if one or both parties or their witnesses are under the influence of drugs or alcohol. If I feel that either party/and or their witnesses are intoxicated, I reserve the right to refuse to perform a legal ceremony and shall not be liable for the failure of a legal ceremony being performed. The option of performing a commitment ceremony will be offered with an option to perform a legal ceremony at a later date at the additional expense of the couple.

Whilst I will guide you through the legal paperwork, the Attorney General’s Department deems it is ultimately the responsibility of the couple getting married to provide any paperwork requested to meet the legal requirements of the ceremony, within the required time frame. This includes (but is not limited to):

A completed, original ‘Notice of Intended Marriage Form, submitted at least one month prior to the wedding.

Original photo ID and proof of place of birth documents (birth certificates, driver’s license, or passports),
-
Proof of termination of previous marriage/s (if applicable) – divorce certificate, nullity, or death certificate.

If required documents have not been sighted within the required time frame prior to the ceremony, I cannot legally perform the ceremony and am not liable. The option of performing a commitment ceremony will be offered with an option to perform a legal ceremony at a later date at the additional expense of the couple.

In the event of unforeseen/unavoidable circumstances that prevent me from performing your ceremony (Accident, illness, etc.) where possible, another suitable Authorised Civil Marriage Celebrant will be arranged by me to conduct your ceremony. Should this be required, you will be advised accordingly with as much notice as possible.
Changes and Cancellations

Any changes to the ceremony, including, (but not limited to), date, time, and venue changes, may incur additional fees and must be discussed with me at your earliest convenience to ensure my availability. In the instance of changing the ceremony, I reserve the right to withdraw from performing the ceremony subject to my availability. A partial refund may be applicable at the sole discretion of the Celebrant.

All cancellations must be received in writing with any monies paid toward your booking considered non-refundable except in exceptional circumstances *See Refund Policy*​

For all cancellations within 8 weeks of the wedding, the couple shall be liable to pay the full amount of the agreed price, unless I am able to resell the date.
Pandemic Postponement and Cancellation policy

I will endeavor to work with all couples affected by Covid-19 restrictions to find a solution to fit each individual situation. Options include; Scaling down my service to an elopement style ceremony, or a legals-only ceremony either on their original date or a new one, dependent on restrictions.

For couples who cannot hold their wedding due to government restrictions*, The wedding may be postponed without charge if the couple (and ONLY the couple) test positive for Covid, as long as sufficient evidence is provided. A photo of a positive RAT test is not sufficient evidence. (*Government restrictions due not include mask mandates or international border closures.)

Refund Policy
In the event that the Celebrant affects a cancellation outside of the conditions listed in the terms and conditions, you will receive a Full Refund.

In the event that the couple affects the cancellation, circumstances, where no refund is applicable, include:

Cancellation of services within 8 weeks of the ceremony date.

Cancellation of services because you found a cheaper Celebrant.
-
Cancellation of services because you have separated and no longer wish to keep your ceremony date.
Circumstances where a partial refund or full refund may be applicable at the sole discretion of the Celebrant, include:

Cancellation of services due to illness, or other unfortunate unforeseen circumstances

Cancellation of my services because you are unhappy with my professional conduct. This includes issues relating to Breaches of the Celebrants Code of Practice – Marriage Act 1961 (39G).
